ROSEBOWER KIDS

OUR MISSION

The Bible teaches that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the home. This means that you have a big job that impacts eternity for your kids! Most parents will eagerly agree with us on this reality, but so many struggle with the practical side of parenting. Shepherd’s House leaders understand the pressure that parents are under in today’s culture and want to partner with parents on both the what and the how of Christian parenting. Parents have a big job. We are here for you, and your kids too.

EVANGELIZE

Kids are special to God, but that doesn’t mean they automatically understand the gospel. “Evangelize” means to convert someone or to preach the Christian gospel. We want your kids to experience the love of God through the gospel.

ENCOURAGE

Parenting is tough and most parents have no trouble finding negative voices who are criticizing their kids and highlighting failure. We want to be a voice of encouragement for you as you grow, teach, and guide your kids.

EQUIP

From kids, to parents, to the volunteers on our team, we aim to equip families as they raise up the next generation for the glory of God! We know God will use your family in powerful ways and want to partner with you to see that happen.

8 Pillars of Children's Ministry

I. Understand God's Special Love for Children.

Jesus treasures children and calls us to receive them with humility and value their presence in the Kingdom.

Verses: Matthew 18:1-6; 19:13-14

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We believe every child is deeply valued by God, and strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where they feel seen, known, and loved.

II. Recognize Children's Spiritual Potential Before God.

Children are created with spiritual capacity and can understand, worship, and respond to Gospel truths by God's grace.

Verses: Psalm 8:1-2; Matthew 21:15-16

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We never underestimate a child's ability to grasp spiritual truths, so we teach rich, clear, Gospel-centered lessons that challenge and inspire.

III. Honor the priority of Parents.

Parents are the primary spiritual leaders of their children, and Kid's Ministry must support, encourage, and equip them in this God-given role.

Verses: Deuteronomy 6:4-9; 11:18-19; Psalm 78:4-7; 1 Thessalonians 2:11

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We view our

role as coming alongside parents with practical

tools, communication, and encouragement to

help them lead their children in Christ.

IV. Get the Character of God Right.

Every lesson should elevate God's greatness, preparing children's hearts for the Gospel through awe and truth.

Verse: Psalm 145:3

What it Means for Kids Ministry: Every teaching moment points kids to the character of God, making Him the central character of every storywe tell.

V. Get the Gospel Right.

Faithfully present the full Gospel each week, trusting God's timing in salvation while calling children to respond to Christ.

Verse: Romans 10:17

What it Means for Kids Ministry: The Gospel is at the heart of all we do, we sow its seeds weekly, clearly and consistently, trusting God to do the saving work in His time.

VI. Feature Leadership and Leadership Development.

Children's ministry should be led by spiritually mature, equipped, and growing leaders who embody the ministry's core values.

Verse: Colossians 1:28

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We are intentional

in recruiting, training, and encouraging leaders who

serve with passion, integrity, and joy, modeling Christ

to every child.

VIl. Structure Ministry to be Anti-Hypocritical

Aim for heart-level transformation over mere knowledge, guiding children toward genuine faith and away from performative Christianity.

Verse: James 1:22-25

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We focus on nurturing the hearts of kids, not just filling their heads, by fostering authentic relationships and engaging them in meaningful worship and reflection.

VIII. Minister to Kids in a Kid-Appropriate Manner

Serve children with joy, patience, and Christlike compassion, meeting them where they are and making church a place of genuine fun.

Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:14; 2 Corinthians 2:14-15

What it Means for Kids Ministry: We prioritize fun,

creativity, and connection in all we do, because joy

builds trust and makes room for Gospel impact in the

hearts of children.
