Rosebower Baptist Church Mission Statement

Our mission at Rosebower Baptist Church is to Glorify God the Father (Psalm 34:3), Edify the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12), and Multiply disciples both locally and Globally! (Matthew 28:18-20)

The vision and greatest desire for RBC is to actively pursue God the Father, and to be obedient to His Word! We are committed to glorify Him through worship and discipleship while being on mission for Him. There are three key phrases that both outline and represent the core of our vision.

Establish Hearts

Matthew 28:18-20

Our marching order from God is to make disciples and we envision God multiplying disciples here at RBC by making our focus worship, disciple making, and evangelism.  It is of upmost importance for us to gather for the sole purpose of worshipping a Holy God!  We as God’s people will unite in prayer for souls to be saved and His kingdom to be advanced. We will partner together in discipleship efforts and equip believers to share the Gospel and make disciples.  Each believer will intentionally pray for at least one person who is lost to be saved, and we, as a church body, will strive to share the gospel 1500 times a year.  As disciples are multiplied by God the Father, and the Body of Christ is being edified through careful and intentional discipleship, we envision God being glorified in our hearts and in our church.

Equip Homes

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

The call of God to make disciples begins in the home, so the home is the center and the target for ministry at RBC. We want to train families to stand strong in the Lord, by developing strong homes with strong marriages where children will ultimately be led to know the Lord.  We will lead families to reach their neighbors and community through 6-10 home bible study groups over the next 5 years.  Equipping the home is the foundational plan to Establishing Hearts and Extending hands by leading families to pray, serve, and grow into a missional force to make an impact for the Kingdom of GOD.

Extend Hands

Acts 1:8

As we glorify God the Father by extending the transforming grace of God, and we edify the Body of Christ by training and equipping believers to grow in their relationship with Christ, we believe that God will lead us to extend our hands in acts of service and love for His great purpose.  We envision not only disciples being multiplied, but we also envision churches being multiplied.  We believe that God will not only bring us in and train us up, but that He will send us out to the nations for the Glory of God! We also envision partnering with church plants and planting one new church from the ground up in the next 5 years in order to reach the least of these with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Over the next 5 years we will give away more than $650,000.00 from our church for local and foreign missions to care for the orphans, to reach the oppressed, to shelter the homeless and reach the lowest of lows for the cause of Christ.

We envision that through the POWER of God, Rosebower Baptist Church will make an impact not only on McCracken County, but the ends of the Earth for the Glory of God!

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.

God

There is one and only one living and true God. … The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

God the Father

God as father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purpose of His grace. … God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

God the Son

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. … He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin.

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. … He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. … He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Man

Man is the special creation of God, made in his own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. … By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. … The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ dies for man; therefore every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

God’s Purpose of Grace

Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. … All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end.

The Church

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. … and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. … The New Testament speaks also of the church as a Body of Christ which includes all os the redeemed of all ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Baptism & the Lord’s Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. … It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby like minded believers … memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.

Last Things

God, in His own time and His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. … Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly … the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. the unrighteous will be consigned to Hell. … The righteous … will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.

Evangelism & Missions

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. … to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.

Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. … Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. … The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God’s image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. … Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.

The Story of the Gospel

Perfection – God created the heavens and all that is in the world perfectly.

Gen 1:1, Gen 1:31

Problem– But in the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve disobeyed God and this sin left all of humanity in a broken relationship with God. Today man’s greatest problem is the curse of sin that separates us from God himself.

Provision– But God, sent his son, Jesus, to do what we could not do… which was fulfill the law through his life, death, and resurrection, that we may be made right before a holy God.

Rom 5:8

Promise– And now, if we will confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead we shall be saved and one day he will return as forever king and we shall receive our heavenly reward.

John 3:16, Rom 10:9, 1 Thess 4:14-17

Pursuit– But until then Jesus says, Go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them what I have commanded you, for I will never leave you or forsake you.
